X In July, 2009, Chris, Priscilla, Ben, Matthew and I went to Cape Cod to visit our grandmother. Our close friends Charley and Amy also stayed with us. I surreptitiously filmed Chris because I thought his toe tapping was hilarious. He would have been furious if he knew that I filmed this.

Your friends and your family have been such good company for me and I am so grateful. What a strange feeling to wake up every day and walk the same streets, meet people who knew you, go to places we once went... and you're not here.
"The main things which seem to me important on their own account, and not merely as means to other things, are knowledge, art, instinctive happiness, and relations of friendship or affection." - Bertrand Russell
You liked this quote. You are missed. Still.

Dear Chris, It's turning chilly , next few weeks will be winter. The kids are coming on Saturday to spend the night and Ninny is bringing supper. School goes well for all the kids. They grow like weeds. Think it time that I moved West. The coming weather does not appeal to me anymore, and I can see Luke more often. Haven't found a coin from you in a bit. Chris:
It has been awhile.
Thought that you would want to know that we settled the Kathleen Baker case yesterday.
She was the lady that claimed a brain injury from a car accident on Fruitville Pike in Lancaster on 8/30/03, after which she worked a half day, claiming headaches, and never working again, although thankfully also not seeking much treatment for her claim.

She was the lady that claimed a brain injury from a car accident on Fruitville Pike in Lancaster on 8/30/03, after which she worked a half day, claiming headaches, and never working again, although thankfully also not seeking much treatment for her claim.
I know that you never met her, and that you were somewhat concerned about the case, because her suspender-wearing attorney demanded boo-coo bucks for what some might think was a minor bump on the noggin, that NFL players routinely assume in Sunday games.
I know, the eggshell was not that thick.
So, after you passed this grenade back to me, and I stuck the pin back in its ear, we rocked her world yesterday, in your infinite memory, settling the case for the low end of reasonable, a far cry from what she wanted, but it was a settlement that certainly would have warranted our grabbing a beer, ok, you are right, or 2, at Ron's, next time that you are in the hood.
Nice work making me look good by the way!
In case you get back to town, I have tickets to games #1, #3, and #1 of the upcoming Phillies playoffs.

Susannah and family.
Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. I'm sorry I can offer no more words of comfort as words seem to elude us at the time we need them the most.

Hey Chris,
I'm thinking about you and missing you more than usual. It's been almost 9 months since you left us. I still feel like we just haven't seen you in a while and one of these Sundays you're going to stop by the house. We'll sit at the dinning room table and drink hot tea. Charlie will sit on your lap and eat a pint of blueberries. We'll catch up on what's been going on over the past few weeks.

You and Don will laugh about whatever crazy story you have for us, I'll laugh too but not because I think the story is funny, but because your laugh is so contagious. And just as unexpectedly as you stopped by the house, you'll have to leave. You'll say that you are meeting someone for lunch or going to hang out with Ben and Matt. I'll feel so disappointed when you leave, wishing you would stay longer. You never did stay long enough. I hope with all my heart you are in a place that brings you peace. I miss you terribly and can't wait to see you on the other side. Love you, Col

Chris: Strange things are happening, and, no, they do not involve the Phillies, although I was holding tickets for you for game #7 of the Giants series,a nd game # 6 of the World Series. However, thought that you might want to know that we are moving our illegal offices to West Chester in 2011. Thought that you might want to stop in and check out the new digs, in the Landmark building, the next time that you are in

Missed you at the Kennett Brew Fest as well; cannot imagine that you were not thirsty that day, which was again, just an absolutely spectacular day, with phenomenal beers to be drained. Maybe, next year; I know, maybe, I buy for a change?

Two memories come clearly to mind when I think of Chris. They aren't big events, just simple, fun, times:
1) I think we were in high school, or maybe early college, and we were at Meredith's house (1196). It was during the day and Chris came over with some take-out Indian food. He was raving about it and scarfing it down. I can remember thinking how a guy as thin as him could pack food away like that. I was envious! He informed us of the 15 Minute Threshold (I think that's what he called it.) He matter of factly informed us that we have 15 minutes until our body sends out signals that we're full, so when he eats food he loves, he tries to scarf it down as fast as he could. And man, he was scarfing that Indian food!
2) We were at my apartment in Elkton, MD, during our later years in college. Dave, Charley, Amy, and Don were there I think. Chris and Charley got in to a TOTAL wrestling match - super intense - but then afterwards they were totally fine. We might've walked to the WaWa across the highway to get some hoagies after that and then we played pranks on each other (Saran Wrap on the toilets, dirty kitty litter on doorknobs, silly stuff.) Good times...
I hope you're doing OK Chris. I think about you a lot.
Love...

A room for some months:
Chris came to Anthony and I saying that he needed a place to stay for a few months until he was able to sign a lease on an apartment in West Chester. He ended up staying 4 years. Those were some of the best 4 years of my life. He flowed in and out of our lives so seemlessly. He became a part of our everyday fabric. The routine was pretty simple but that is what made it so great. He was there for the subtle and the blatant events of our life. He was there for the first hours of Henry's life, the bed times, the baths, the cookouts, the Phillies playoffs, the holiday's, the fights and the laughs. He has permeated all that our home offers and holds. I said it at the service and I still live it today--- I hold his memory and warmth inside me and miss him EVERY SINGLE DAY.A room for some months:

I only knew Chris for about 10 years. For those of you who had the pleasure of knowing him longer, I will be eternally envious.
I met Chris through my friend Don Allaband. A co-worker of ours had thrown a party at his house and Don had invited Chris. We became friends the instant we shook hands. We drank and talked about various topics that guys in their early 20's seemed to be obsessed with.
About halfway through the evening Chris and I set out to restock the beer that had been quickly consumed by our fellow partygoers. During that time Chris was driving this T-top car that was built to be driven fast. And that night we drove it real fast. We took the long way back to the party, listening to music and laughing, all the while cementing our friendship.
I will always miss Chris but I will never forget him.
I'm glad I was able to visit and share my grief with his loved ones.

When i was in fourth grade, i had to do a PA project. I chose to do in on the Chester County Courthouse. Chris offererd to give me and my dad a tour and help get the information i needed. He gave us a tour and i was really interested in the security and camera's and he wanted to take us to different places. I remember it as being very fun and enjoyed the time together. I will miss him very much !

I remember a couple years ago when i was bouncing on the trampoline with my younger cousins and he was pelting us with excersize balls at full speed then he nailed my cousin who probably then just turned 1 then the little guy just got up and went on his merily way then he hit my other cousin who was probably only 3 then he fell down and started crying like the world was about to end. It was so funny.
