Ann Holman of Avondale, PA went home to be with our Lord on the evening of Saturday, November 19th, at the age of 89. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born on Rocky Flat Road in Ashe County, NC, she came to Pennsylvania at the blossoming age of 22. At that time she met the man of her dreams at the Sunset Park in Jennersville, PA. From that day on, Ann and J.C. Holman Sr, who was born in Ashe County, NC, remained lovingly inseparable.
She enjoyed her family and friends and was deeply loved by all. Ann loved to attend church services at the Kennett Square Missionary Baptist Church. Ann will be remembered most for being Mother to all that blessed her life.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband J.C. of 58 years in 2002. They were married on November 4th, 1944 in Elkton, MD. She was also preceded in death by her son J.C. Holman Jr in 2003. As well as her 7 brothers and 1 infant sister. Ann is survived by her two daughters Carolyn Edwards of Avondale, PA and Teresa Johnson and husband John of Kennett Square, PA , and one son, Norman Osborne and his wife Ruby of Kennett Square, PA. Also her two sisters, Gladys Shelton of Creston, NC and Eldene Mitchell of Johnson City, TN. Ann found no greater joy then spending time with her children, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
You are invited to visit with her family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Friday evening, November 25, 2011, at the Foulk & Grieco Funeral Home, 200 Rose Hill Road, West Grove, PA , and again from 9:30 to 10:00 Saturday morning, November 26, at the Kennett Square Missionary Baptist Church, 408 Bayard Road, Kennett Square, PA. Her funeral service will follow at 10:00 at the Church. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square, PA.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
