Anne Hedrick Lynch, age 84 of Kennett Square, died Sunday September 4, 2011 at the Chester County Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edward Joseph Lynch with whom she shared 35 years of marriage.
Anne was a member of St. Patrick Church where she was a soloist in the choir. Her professional career included many years in banking at the First National Bank & Trust Company of Kennett Square. At a later time she owned and operated Kennett Place Restaurant and launched the Kennett Square Mushroom Cook-Off Contest. The latter became an annual event that helped drive the establishment of the Kennett Square Mushroom Festival. Music and singing always remained a special part of her life. She was also an avid bridge player and enjoyed an occasional trip to Atlantic City.
Born in Marshallton PA, Anne was a daughter of the late Joseph W. and Vannie Felty Hedrick. Survivors include one son, John Joseph Lynch of Unionville and one daughter, Patricia A. Lynch (Bob) of West Grove, PA; two brothers, George Hedrick (Nancy) of Avondale and James Hedrick (Helen) of Taylor, South Carolina and one sister; Ruth Patterson (Jim) of Exton, PA. Anne was preceded in death by four siblings: Joseph Hedrick, Jr., Emma Grace Guthrie, Elizabeth Heckman and Josephine Smith.
You are invited to visit with Anne's family from 6-8PM Monday September 12 and Tuesday September 13 from 8:30-9:30AM at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home (610-444-4116) 250 W. State St. Kennett Square, PA 19348. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM Tuesday at St. Patrick Church, 212 Meredith St. Kennett Square. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.
