Betty Mae George Hendrickson, age 84 of Landenberg, died Thursday February 2, 2012 at the Ware Presbyterian Village. She was the wife of Joseph "Nick" Manly Hendrickson with whom she shared 67 years of marriage.
Born in Glasgow DE she was a daughter of the late Norman C. George and Nettie Bell Hallabaugh George and grew up on the family farm. She was one of twelve children.
Betty attended St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful mother with her husband. She loved traveling to all points of the country especially the mountains. She enjoyed baking, flower gardens and interior decorating.
Survivors include in addition to her husband two sons, Joseph "Nick" Hendrickson Jr. (Edna) of Kirkwood PA and Nelson D Hendrickson (Jean) of Nottingham PA; two daughters, Joan Hanna (Tex) of Townsend DE, and Linda Schroder (John) of Houstontown PA; her twin sister Lois Reed of Newark DE; 13 grandchildren 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. In addition to her siblings, she was predeceased by 2 grandsons.
You are invited to visit with Betty's family from 6-8PM Tuesday February 7, 2012 and from 10-11AM Wednesday February 8th at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home Inc. (610-444-4116) 250 W. State St. Kennett Square PA 19348. Her funeral service will be at 11AM on Wednesday. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.
