I will miss my friend Fred dearly. I always enjoyed it when he and Francis came into the bank because as her and I tried to conduct whatever business it was that they were in for he always got side tracked and would start a story about the war or his days with the railroad or his gardening. I could listen to his stories all day if I didn't have to work. I liked his southern accent and me being from south Texas, he took me home everytime they came in. He reminded me of my grandfather from Texas. Francis be strong and know that I will be thinking of you and I have you in my prayers. Fred, I will miss you my friend,,,

Knowing Fred for the past 14 years has been a life enriching experience. He gave the fruits and vegetables produced in his garden freely to the neighbors and beyond. I will miss chatting with him and hearing his stories of working for the Pennsylvania Railroad, and tales of his childhood around the Norfolk, VA area. Fred was a gentleman. In the future, I will always smile when it snows, and remember how he used to get mad at my wife, and I, if we or our children removed the snow from his driveway.
