GEORGE JOHN HEIMBERGER, age 90, of Kennett Square, PA, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012, at the Chester County Hospital. He was the husband of Caroline Graybill Heimberger, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.

Born in Chaumont, France, he was the son of the late John and Claire Persin Heimberger.

Mr. Heimberger attended Catonsville High School in Catonsville, MD, and was a graduate of the University of Maryland.

He was a Chemical Engineer. In 1952 he was employed by Atlas Powder Company in quality control. In 1966 he relocated to Wilmington, DE with ICI in industrial hygiene and safety. He retired in 1981, after 29 years of service.

Mr. Heimberger served as a lst Lt in the US Army during World War II, with the anti-aircraft artillery division for seven years.

He was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church, Unionville, PA.

He enjoyed Bass fishing, building and flying model radio controlled airplanes.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Keith A. Heimberger and James E. Heimberger, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday morning, January 14, 2012, at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 109 E. Doe Run Road, Unionville, PA. There will be Graveside service at 11:00, Monday morning, January 16, 2012, at the Richfield Community Cemetery, Richfield, PA.
