Hector Thomas McVey, age 91 of Malvern PA died Wednesday September 14, 2011 at the Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester. He was the husband of Carrie Ann Flood McVey with whom he shared 66 years of marriage.
Born in Santiago Chile, he was a son of the late Thomas McVey and Lidia Silva de McVey.
Hector received a Naval Scholarship to MIT, where he began his courtship with his wife Carrie Ann.
Hector was a Chief Engineer in the shipbuilding industry working for JJ Henry Company, then Sun Ship Building & Drydock Company and finally his own company, HT McVey & Associates, P.C.
Survivors include in addition to his wife, three sons; Randolph and his wife Catherine, Michael, and Thomas, four daughters; Anita O'Connor and her husband John, Maureen Giuffre and her husband John, Maria Rubinstein and her husband Mark, and Lucy Edelmayer and her husband Bob, one brother; Eduardo, one sister; Lucy, sisters in law; Blanca Aviles and Bette Elovitz, eight grandchildren; Janette, Jennifer, Jonathan, Nicholas, Rebecca, Steven, Jason, and Paige, and nieces and nephews; Priscilla, Eduardo, Thomas, Jacqueline, John, Andres, George, Reginald, Larry, Ian, Leslie and Gerald.
You are invited to visit with Hector's family from 9-10AM Saturday September 17, 2011 at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home Inc. (610-444-4116) 250 W. State St. Kennett Square, PA 19348. His funeral service will follow at 10AM. Interment will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park. Contributions in his memory may be made to Neighborhood Hospice 400 E.
