JOY J. RUGGIERI, age 78, of Kennett Square, PA, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at the Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester, PA. She was the wife of Dino P. Ruggieri, who passed away in 2004, and with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.
Born in Pottsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Leitha Manning Johnson.
Joy was a homemaker, and she enjoyed bird watching, crossword puzzles, being with her family and friends and her three cats. She was an election volunteer for many years.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by four sons, Mark Ruggieri of Kennett Square, PA, Paul Ruggieri of Kennett Square, PA, John Ruggieri of West Grove, PA and Peter Ruggieri of Lancaster, PA; one daughter, Lisa Vance of Chadds Ford, PA; one brother, Joseph Entrikin of Bellingham, WA; one sister, Robin Marshall of Wilmington, DE, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Joy was predeceased by one son, Dean Ruggieri, one granddaughter, Diane Ruggieri and one sister, Audrey Egeressy.
Her services and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to Neighborhood Hospice, 400 East Marshall Street, West Chester, PA 19380 or to the S P C A of Chester County, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380.
