Margaret C. Graham

I had the privilege of meeting Margaret last summer through Advent's visitation ministry. She quickly became a good friend. I loved listening to the stories of family and church. I am missing her when I go to Crosslands.

Dear Gail and Margaret's family.
I am sorry to be away for Margaret's memorial service. I knew Margaret ever since I came to Advent in 1962 . I remember always sitting near Margaret and her husband and children in church. I have many good memories of knowing Mragaret through out the years at church and then seeing her friendly face and chatting when I went to Crosslands to see my parents. She was such a gracious lady. I send to you all my thoughts and prayers. very sincerely,

I am sorry to miss Margaret's memorial service next week. I will be out of the country on a trip.

Margaret was a vital person in the story of our Advent church.

I remember our children going to the many church picnics held at her "farm."

I also remember fondly the several times she took my wife and I down to the town south of here where she grew up and whose name has slipped my memory for one of her old church's muskrat dinners.

I haven't had muskrat since.

We were so glad to know her.

I remember a couple of (now) funny stories that happened while working with Mrs. Graham. So sorry to hear of Mrs. Grahams passing. I worked for her for a number of years while in high school in the mid and late seventies. She was always so pleasant and generous. I remember a couple of (now) funny stories that happened while working with Mrs. Graham. One spring, while uncovering the pool., I believe it was her daughter Gail and I were attempting to remove the cover, well to make a long story short I think I caused Gail to end up in a very cold pool before she intended. Another day, I had been working in the back yard, I had the trailer full of rocks soil and I disconnected it from the tractor by the mulch pile near the hill above the pond. I cut some grass with the tractor and then backed up the tractor to the trailer and went inside to eat lunch. After lunch I came back out to empty the trailer, backing up without first attaching the trailer to the tractor, I accidentally pushed the trailer just enough to start it rolling down the big hill toward the pond. I realized what had happened and jumped off the tractor, running down the hill chasing the fully loaded trailer. I remember diving toward the hitch part and pushing it to the side to cause the trailer to turn. I was able to keep it from landing in the pond, but the trailer came to a sudden stop and all the contents were strewn down the hill. Very embarrassing, but memorable! She was a great person and I know she gave a lot of herself with all of her volunteer work. I will always remember her fondly. Ed Kropf

Your Mom taught me the value of a good traveling companion; she taught me the "art" of muskrat eating, beaten biscuits and homemade mincemeat! I'll always treasure her classy looks, her smile and her upbeat outlook on the world.
