Robert "Bob" P. Bryer, age 70 of Coatesville PA died Monday December 26, 2011 at the Chester County Hospital. He was the husband and 18 year companion of Gail Gray Bryer.
Born in Mayfield PA he was a son of the late Joseph R. and Helen Wladika Bryer.
Bob earned a Masters degree in Safety Management from West Chester University. He was a Research Chemist and later an Environmental Protection Manager for Sun Oil Company retiring after 28 years of service.
He volunteered for the Boy Scouts of America, Meals on Wheels and at the annual picnic of All Saints Russian Orthodox Church in Olyphant for many years. Community service was a significant part of his life. He was a board member of his local home-owners association and was an honorary Colonel in the Kentucky Colonels. The love of his life was his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include in addition to his wife, the mother of his children, Betty Bryer; two sons, Rob Bryer (Jennifer Alburger) of West Grove and Scott Bryer (Jen Doll) of Carlisle; three daughters, Terrie Kellar (Walter) of Oxford, Donna Gregg (Carl) of Lititz and Carol McDonald (Ed) of Kennett Square; two brothers, Mike Bryer of Atlanta GA and Joe Bryer of Olyphant, PA; thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and numerous people who loved him. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Eugene.
You are invited to visit with Bob's family from 6-8PM Thursday December 29, 2011 and from 10-11AM Friday December 30th at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home Inc. (610-444-4116) 250 W. State St. Kennett Square, PA 19348. His funeral service will follow at 11AM Friday. Interment will be in Union Hill Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Research & Education Foundation, 2200 Lake Blvd NE Atlanta GA, 30319.
