Robert D. " Buster" Kilby, age 68 of West Grove PA, died peacefully Wednesday October 12, 2011 at home after a well fought 3 year battle with cancer. He received cancer treatments through clinical trials at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda MD for the past 2 years.
Born in West Grove, he was a son of the late Smith Robert Kilby who died in 1999 and Elsie Mae Gouge Kilby who lives in Kelton.
Buster was a 1961 graduate of Avon Grove High School. He was drafted into the Army and served in Korea. He was with Delmarva Power for over 30 years.
He loved motor sports, and especially loved playing Texas hold'em poker.
Survivors include in addition to his mother, one son, Robert Daniel Kilby and his wife Kate; two daughters, Mindy Kilby and Stephanie Kilby; two brothers, Larry J. Kilby and his wife Linda, and Jerry A. Kilby and his wife Sue; one sister; Mary Sue Porter; and four grandchildren.
You are invited to visit with Buster's family from 6-8PM Sunday October 16, 2011 and from 10-11AM Monday October 17th, at the Foulk & Grieco Funeral Home Inc. (610-869-2685) 200 Rose Hill Rd. West Grove, PA 19390. A funeral service will be held 11AM Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Hill Cemetery in Kennett Square.
