RoseMary T. "Rose" Williams

RoseMary T. Williams age 53, of Bear, DE passed away at home after a short battle with cancer on Sunday, August 21, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Charles F. Williams, Sr., with whom she shared 35 years of marriage.

RoseMary was known by many as Miss Rose, Mom Mom Rose or Rose Bud. She was looked up to by many as a mother figure. Rose always kept high spirits and was always thinking of others, placing their needs above her own. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren. Rose liked playing cards, bingo, watching All My Children and Big Brother.

Ms. Rose started the free lunch program in Newark and volunteered for many years teaching the GED program to single mothers in the community.

In addition to her husband, Rose is survived by her mother, Ethel Machurek; children, MariaRosa Thomas (Steve) of Newark, DE, Charles Williams, Jr. (Lindsay) of Bear, DE and Tara Williams of Newark, DE; grandchildren, Katina, Steven, Autumn and Kaelyn; sisters, Beth Geller and Dawn Hatfield of New Castle, DE; brother, Michael Machurek of Elkton, MD.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded in death by her father, Edward J. Machurek Sr.; her brother, Edward Machurek Sr.; and a son in law, Lavern Thomas.

A viewing will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 N DuPont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720 from 1-2 pm. A service will be held at 2 pm. Burial will follow in the adjoining memorial park.
