WILLIAM E. GORDON, JR., of Chadds Ford, PA, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2012, at the Chester County Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Jo DeMatteo Gordon, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage.
Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, he was the son of the late William E. Gordon, Sr., and the late Margaret Bernstiel Gordon.
He was a member of St. Cornelius Church.
Bill was a Corporate Attorney at the DuPont Company in Wilmington, DE, retiring in 2011, after 27 years of service.
He was a member of the Wilmington Country Club, an avid golfer, and enjoyed sports and traveling.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, William E. Gordon, III (Mia); three brothers, Dennis Gordon (Lucy-deceased), Eugene Gordon (Julia) and Kevin Gordon ( Mary); one sister, Anne Campellone (Pat), and many nieces and nephews.
You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 6:00 to 9:00, Friday evening, January 13, 2012 at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, PA (Phone: 610-444-4116).
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 Saturday morning, January 14, 2012 at St. Cornelius Church, 160 Ridge Road, Chadds Ford, PA. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1 Valley Square, 512 Township Line Road, Suite 133, Blue Bell, PA 19422 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
