WILLIAM M. WASHINGTON, age 87, of West Grove, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the Pocopson Home.

Born in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Alonzo B. and Thanzine Gray Washington.

He was a Cook and also worked as a Domestic for William Glickman in New York City.

He enjoyed music and the New York Yankees.

Brother Washington attended the Kennett Square congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was a deep thinker, and was interested in the resurrection and how life would be on the paradise earth. He loved to observe Jehovah's creations. The squirrels were at the top of his list, and he would even crack nuts for them. When he attended congregation meetings, you saw a well dressed brother, everything was well arranged.
Brother Washington was an unbaptized publisher and was looking forward to baptism. He enjoyed the ministry. On Bible studies he expressed his thoughts and shared his favorite scriptures. He was a kind, compassionate and patient brother and will be missed.

He is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Smith of Coatesville, PA; two nieces, Marcelene Brown of West Grove, PA and Helen Burton of West Chester, PA; two nephews, Morris Brown, II and Alonzo L. Brown, both of West Chester, PA, and a host of cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Clarence Washington and Willis Washington; one sister, Helen Brown.

Burial will be private.

There will be a Memorial service at 2:00 Saturday afternoon, January 28, 2012, at the Kennett Square congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses, located on Route 41, in the village of Chatham, PA.
